There’s a big chance your keyboard says QWERTY. In this episode of Vox’s Overrated, Phil Edwards investigates the keyboard’s history.

If you’ve ever been curious about typewriter history, the rise of QWERTY wasn’t an accident. Typing and typewriters weren’t always around, and the inventor of the QWERTY typewriter layout didn’t know it would become the standard.
Over time, however, business reasons and typing education made QWERTY a standard across the industry and, eventually, for the vast majority of typists. Though there are exceptions to QWERTY’s domination, for the most part, this keyboard layout remains the default even today.

Actually for the German language this is the best! Some words lie right next to each other and you can type really fast. Guess it’s the same with some other languages
Would never exchange it for something else
My fingers memorises the keyboard, but my brain doesn’t memorise it .-.
This 99% claim seems false, taking into account how many people have a qwertz keyboard
in english world, qwerty. french world it' azerty, german its something else etc. it didn't conquer the wolrd
To summarise this video:
There used to be other keyboards.
People watched this video, yet didn't get anything from it. It makes this video Overrated.

I took typing class in high school. Our teacher used to give us ascii art for our typing practice. 🙂
1:21 I found a mistake at the 1840's Piano Keyboard you shown, more specifically in your transliteration. Your transliteration said ".ZYXYWVUTSRQPO" when it comes to the white keys, but (as shown in the image) the keyboard says ".ZYXWVUTSRQPO". That means you've incorrectly typed an extra "Y" between the "X" and "W" in your transliteration. 🙂
type "wow" then "awesome" on the youtube video
I want and need an "ABCDEF" keyboard. How can i get one ???
QWERTY

Question please: while typing my keyboard changes suddenly from qwerty to azerty. I like to keep qwerty only although I am able to write french (for accents like à é ç etc..) using ALT+SHIFT. So how can I keep qwerty alone.
Fact: QWERTY keyboard was used to slow down typing speed
???? How did a cartel come into this???
In Belgium we all use azerty
I searched Azerty and I found this
